A program we are participating in
I would like to thank my Bruddas and Sistas in Pahala who have helped so much in locating the existing Jatropha curcas trees in Kau and helping me find the landowners.
Aloha

Why?
That is a question I'm asked at least once a week since I decided to immerse myself and my business into the biofuels industry. The only answer I can give is the same one I gave when I decided to teach Special Education:
Sometimes in our lives we have to focus on the greater good and put aside our personal desires for that purpose.
There are other reasons and one of which is my community of Kau, Hawaii. Part of the former sugar plantation and now being affected by the severe decline in the Mac Nut industry in Hawaii, Kau has little to offer the youth of Kau in the way of economic opportunity or even jobs. There is much land in Kau that could provide jobs in Agriculture and the supporting industries if someone was willing to step up to the plate and do something about it. That's what the Big Island Fuel Crops Project is really about.
I know that it takes sheer determination and conviction to make change or do something that society is unsure of when you begin; I've succeeded before and I will succeed again. If there is a way to profitably grow Jatropha curcas (or another biofuel crop) in Kau, Hawaii, the Big Island Fuel Crops Project is dedicated to developing it
We all must do our part to preserve what little is left of mother earth and leave it a better place than when we arrived. I believe this is one of my many attempts to do just that.
Aloha
